Privacy Policy

In short: CDL Response, a service operated by JournAI LLC, processes driver-applicant information on behalf of participating trucking carriers, solely to deliver the managed response service each carrier has authorized. We are not the employer, and we do not make hiring decisions.

Who this applies to

This policy covers information handled through the CDL Response service by (1) participating carriers ("Carriers") who engage us to manage initial driver-applicant response and preliminary qualification, and (2) driver applicants ("Applicants") who apply to a Carrier's job posting and are contacted as part of that service.

What we process, and on whose behalf

On behalf of a Carrier, and only for job postings that Carrier has authorized, we process: applicant name, phone number, the job applied for, responses to the Carrier-approved preliminary questions, and message timestamps. We act as a processor/service provider to the Carrier — the Carrier remains the party responsible for the underlying applicant relationship, for obtaining and maintaining lawful messaging consent, and for all hiring, safety, and compliance decisions.

What we do not do

We do not text an Applicant unless the Carrier has documented, lawful consent for applicant messaging in place.
We do not make final hiring, safety, background-check, or employment-eligibility determinations.
We do not sell Applicant or Carrier information to third parties.
We do not use Applicant conversation data to train public or shared AI systems.

Retention and deletion

Applicant conversation data is retained only as needed to deliver the service and to maintain records required by law (including opt-out and consent records). Upon termination of a Carrier's service agreement, applicant records are deleted or returned to the Carrier according to the terms of that agreement.

Opt-out

Any Applicant may reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages. Opt-out requests are honored immediately and a suppression record is kept as legally required.

Data security

Applicant data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to authorized personnel working on a Carrier's account, and access is removed immediately upon a team member's departure.
